The following is just a quick example of how to update a container running on Docker to the latest version.
docker ps #list all the running containers docker stop <container id> #stops the container you want to update docker rm <container id> #removes the container you want to update docker pull <image> #grabs the latest version of the image docker-compose up -d #runs the compose file and starts the container docker image ls #lists all the downloaded images docker image rm <image id> #removes a downloaded image
To update container images when using a Synology, the following must be completed:
- Download the latest image via the Registry
- Once downloaded, stop the Container
- Click on the Container then Action and Reset
- Start the Container
